This new "1/6" model is a mechanical watch that is inspired by "scales," released by designer Nao Tamura, who wanted a watch that would allow the wearer to feel the steady ticking of time. The "1/6" name comes from the mechanical watch's six-vibration hands, which tick six times per second. The dial has a two-layer construction that creates depth, and the hands tick on a scale that represents antique measuring instruments. The design's elaborate yet retro appearance of the long hands ticking away evokes a sense of nostalgia and warmth.
